Paris, day one

We left Nice late in the day, to get the most out of our visit there. So it was already getting dark when we got on the plane.

Once we arrived in Paris. Tired. Too tired to do anything, but something that definitely perked me up... a Bueno!

The next morning, a good early lunch was definitely in order. We ventured to a sandwich shop. Paris... bread... lovely.

Little did we know that both of us would essentially have one of the best sandwiches we had in our entire lives. And, that's a lot of sandwiches.

After eating, we walked our way across the Seine

So that we could go to the Louvre

There were lots of cool things there

Even if a good amount of them didn't have heads

The Grande Galerie

Which was on the way to see her

Across from it, a painting with over 130 people in it! It was huge, and apparently divided into two just to transport.

Then walking through one of many we would see

Which was on the walk through the Jardin del Tuileries

I was wondering what

The big deal was

We were then at the end, in the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle

Which we left, and on on our way, found a baguette. I swear I could eat these all day long and be happy.

It was getting late but we were close.

Well, on the way back we found more Bueno.

Nice, day two

Wake up? Coffee. Get some.

We then walked on over to the Place Massena

Where, we quickly realized we were in the middle of a protest. Not sure what it was about, but there were a ton of people. Apparently it's the cool thing to do, because there were bands on the back of moving trucks, people cheering, everything you could think of. Except for beer.

The night before, we had tried to hike to the top of the Lou Casteu, but it was closed :( So, we went again.

From the top, we noticed what looked like a farmers' market. Must go. Who doesn't like a good farmers' market?

After walking down to the market we had seen earlier, we found out it was the Cours Saleya.

All. Olives.

And cheeeessseeeee

We decided to get some, and have a pseudo-lunch on the beach.

Where, we saw this guy. He walked by us mumbling something, but like anything else I don't understand, I just smiled and nodded. He walked away, towards these two girls.

On the way over there, he saw something. He bent down, picked it up, smelled it. Then he did the same thing with more of the same right next to it.

Then, he went over to the girls, and started chatting with them. After shaking both of their hands.

What had he picked up earlier? Dog poo.

This guy was AMAZING. He had wheeled a piano over, and played it. Seriously. Talent. It was then that I realized I had no talent I could wow people with like this. Need to get started on something.

Crepes.

This is where we waited for the bus, that was going to take us to the airport. Only, it never came. Because of the strike. Some guy saw us and he was going to the airport also, so we split a cab there. Not too shabby.

Nice, was nice :)

Nice, day one

Our time in Florence was short, but it was definitely well worth it. Would definitely go back there in a second.

Next stop, Nice.

In planning we decided that we needed somewhere to stop in between Florence and Paris. You know, since there is a decent amount of travel time in between Florence and Paris, we might as well see somewhere new in between. So, we chose Nice. About halfway (I think?) in between the two, and we had heard good things about it. We decided that about a day and a half would be enough, seeing as Nice is primarily a beach town, is small, and we wanted to spend more time in Paris.

Woke up, had some of the complimentary breakfast at the hotel we were staying at, then off to the train station to go from Florence to Nice.

A good amount of the trip was on the coast. Without even thinking about it much, I noticed that I had gone months without seeing the ocean. Which, is kinda unique since I haven't lived farther than 5 miles from the ocean in my life.

We arrived in Nice, knowing we would have a short walk to the hotel. I think we got there in the late afternoon. Check in, drop off the bags, and see what Nice was all about.

When we booked our places to stay, we decided that we would stay in an 'ok' place in Nice, in exchange for a good location. Mostly because we would only be there for one night, and figured we would make up for it in Paris. Here's the view from the window.

We then ventured off down the street. Only to find that there was a fire. Luckily, this is about all we saw, and it didn't spread any more than the room it started in (we think).

The beach... interesting. I am pretty sure I wouldn't be a fan of laying on the rocks. Though, a definite plus would be that you wouldn't have sand all over you when you got home.

Walking along the Promenade des Anglais

We saw this guy riding these crazy pseudo-skates. Have you ever seen something like them?
